Certificate Monitoring

Principles for monitoring a certified person's compliance with the scheme, and for renewing, suspending, withdrawing and reissuing certificates.

Purpose & Scope

The purpose of this procedure is to monitor a certified person's compliance with the relevant requirements of the scheme, and to define the methods for renewing, suspending, withdrawing and reissuing certificates.

The procedure covers all certificates issued under the personnel certification system and all certificate holders.

Obligations of Certificate Holders

  • Comply with the relevant provisions of the certification scheme.
  • Limit their claims to the scope for which the certificate was granted.
  • Not use the certificate in a misleading way or in a way that damages the organization's reputation.
  • Stop making claims and return the certificate if it is suspended or withdrawn.
  • Sign the SZ.01 Certificate Use Agreement.

Certificate Statuses

Active

The certificate is valid and in use. The qualification within our scope has no surveillance requirement.

Suspended

The certificate is temporarily deactivated at the holder's request, or in case of suspected irregularity/fraud, a complaint or misuse.

Withdrawn

If the reasons for suspension cannot be resolved, or at the holder's request or refusal of the conditions, the certificate is withdrawn and must be returned.

Processes

  1. Suspension

Depending on the nonconformity, the certificate is suspended by the Certification Decision Maker; its status is set to inactive in the software and reported to the MYK portal. The holder stops using the certificate once notified of the suspension.

  2. Lifting a Suspension

An application from a holder who documents that the reason for suspension no longer applies is evaluated; if accepted, the certificate is reactivated and this is reported to the MYK portal.

  3. Withdrawn

The certificate is withdrawn if the reasons cannot be resolved, or upon the holder's request, death or refusal to accept the suspension conditions. The holder returns the certificate within 15 working days of notification, and the relevant institutions are informed.

  4. Certificate Renewal

The holder is contacted 30 days before the validity period ends and informed of the renewal requirements. Renewal is carried out in line with the procedures in the relevant certification scheme and MYK principles.

  5. Reissuing

Holders whose certificate is lost or unusable can have it reissued; after a loss notice or return of the old certificate and payment of the fee, the request is forwarded to MYK.

  6. Change of Scope

Where the national qualification allows, the scope of the certificate may be extended or reduced at the holder's request or in line with regulations.

You can check the validity of your certificate on the MYK portal's Certificate Inquiry page.
